What part of NO can some people simply not comprehend? It doesn't mean, "Let me think about it and I might change my mind." It doesn't mean, "I'm just foolin' you, I really mean sure!" or even "Just for you, I'll make an exception."
It means no. Until whatever is causing the problem is resolved, then I cannot fulfill your request.

Sounds to me like you've been dealing with some of my wife's financial aid students.......

"What do you mean I don't have any financial aid or bookstore credit. I turned in my paperwork two days ago!"
"It takes HOW LONG to process a student loan? Three to six weeks, are you kidding me? Why does it take so long?" (Um - have you noticed the other 5,999 students on campus??)
"Nobody told me I had to renew my FAFSA!" (Why on earth did we waste all that money printing up posters and flyers and sending out 6,000 postcards to remind students to renew their FAFSA? We could have used the money to hire more people to help us!)
Ay, caramba - and this is our future work force? A meteor hitting the earth and obliterating life as we know it is the least of our worries.....

On second thought: I just realized a while ago that the majority of areas of study in our little institute of higher learning are either in some field of education or health science.
Perhaps it's time to re-examine homeschooling and Christian Science... (smirk).
Our director has actually been threatened by a student- a nurse- who said she (the director) better hope she never has to go to the hospital she (the student) works at or she'll be sorry.
She (the director) can't even go out to eat anymore without fear that a disgruntled student may work there and spit in her food.
And her doctor wonders why he can't get her to quit smoking.....

Believe me, if I didn't get deathly ill around ciggy smoke, the habit would be inviting just for the stress relief......
