I prefer to think of myself as at least 75% Dixie. Yeah, yeah -- enough years of working with people from all over have tempered my accent to a degree, but at heart I'm Dixie to the core.
Right, y'all?

I'm surprised my "Dixie" level was just 35%. I don't understand, but I'm afraid my voice and mannerisms are getting more and more bumpkin-esque as I get older.
Having a little "Yankee" vein isn't the end of the world; what I have nightmares about is waking up and finding that I really sound like I grew up in central Michigan. Yeeeeeeeeesh. That "upper midwest" accent makes my eardrums break out in hives.

I have been told that I have certain inflections - rare, but there - that are reminiscent of Chicago. Sonuvadamndog, I know exactly how I picked that up too.....
